Kyrgyzstan plans to issue a new 2000 Som Commemorative banknote

Kyrgyzstan plans to issue a new banknote on November 17, 2017. The new note commemorates the 25th anniversary of independence of Kyrgyzstan and the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency. It has an original design reflecting the history of the formation of Kyrgyz statehood from ancient times to the present day.

The main image of the front side of the banknote is a monument to the national hero Manas, who unites the Kyrgyz tribes, which are represented on the banknote in the form of stylized ornamental figures. The image of Umai Ene symbol represents the most ancient deity, who is the progenitor of all Turkic peoples. Dwelling of nomad peoples — the yurt, which is a symbol of prosperity and well-being, is also presented.

The reverse side of the banknote has a tree as a symbol of the life and prosperity of the Kyrgyz people. The image of the majestic Khan-Tengri mountain symbolizes the independent spirit of the Kyrgyz people, striving for high achievements and successes. The floating golden eagle against the background of the unique mountain Issyk-Kul Lake symbolizes the openness and freedom of the Kyrgyz people.
