Namibia Introduces New Banknotes

The Bank of Namibia has launched a new series of banknotes on Wednesday. The banknotes incorporate state of the art features to ensure that Namibia's banknotes are not vulnerable to potential counterfeiters.

The new banknotes - N$50, N$100 and N$200 denominations - still feature an image of Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi, while the N$10 and N$20 feature the image of former President Sam Nujoma.

The new series will be issued in May 2012.
