By NutmegcollectorLao released a new 1000 Kip note on October 31, 2008.
The note is similar to previous issues but with modified deign and dated 2008.

Apparently this note has been withdrawn from circulation because the three girls pictured are real people and some Lao official was afraid that they could behave in a way that could discredit the National identity.
